ELLEN NEWMAN

Ellen Newman was a senior Voice tutor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art for 16 years and RADA'S Head of Voice from 2004-2011. She works with students, actors and business professionals in Voice, Acting and Presentation Skills; she teaches for the British American Drama Academy and in private practice.
Ms Newman trained on the three year acting course at Central School of Speech and Drama and has been a professional actor, on and off Broadway in New York, in London's West End and in US regional theatre.
She has an MA in Theatre History, Theory and Criticism, has been a tenured professor in the US and on the drama faculties of Cornell University, Ohio State University, Ithaca College and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
Ms Newman has been a Voice Coach with the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Arcola Theatre, at the Edinburgh Festival and in London's West End; she has conducted Master classes and workshops at the Pan European Voice Conference, the conference of the British Voice Association and the National Theatre Studio and has worked with professional actors and theatre companies in Iceland and Japan.
